DIY- Do It Yourself | Women's pleasure as a taboo

Amit and Riya Mehra are approached by Milli, an ad filmmaker for a vibrator company called Do It Yourself (DIY), to star in their upcoming documentary ad based on “Indian wives and their sex lives” . The company also sponsors a free vibrator as an incentive. While shooting, Riya decides to take the free vibrator and reveals to Amit that she is unhappy with their sex life - all on camera. What unfolds is a dark comedy mockumentary based on the lack of attention given to women’s desires and what they want, and the ingrained misogyny in people who judge a woman for her sexual choices and conveniently choose to ignore her.

I worked as the co-writer, director, actor, cinematographer and editor.
